North on CD

Drivin' north, up a crooked highway, All my troubles fast upon my heels, I don't know just where I'm goin' I'm just ponderin' on the lonely way I feel... What in the devil is wrong with the world that we must sing this lonesome song of heartache and frustration? Jeremiah Clark and the Lighter Thieves are proud to announce the release of their new CD, "North", a beautiful set of troubled songs that blend and warp multiple styles and influences. Primarily an alt-country album, the songs of "North" betray the influences of folk, Americana, rock 'n' roll, blues and a touch of jazz. God bless the whiskey, with which I soothe my soul, Sittin' here on a fire escape, tryin' to lose control, Listenin' to the business end of the best band I've ever witnessed, Six-gun strapped across my chest Lord, this quiet boy ain't pressed... Join the Lighter Thieves as they laugh and cry their way across the American landscape. Jeremiah's songs hearken back to the early days of singer-songwriters, when folks sang about what they knew and we all saw ourselves in their images. His wife, Sharon, plays violin with a classical background, a love for folk music and a gift for songcraft. She also lends her gorgeous voice to many of the songs, including one of her own. Paul Clark has played bass longer than he's been called Jeremiah's pa, and his experience roots this band firmly on the ground, while his harmonies and mandolin soar through the sky. Sandy Kramer plays drums with a gift for subtlety, while never losing the backbeat. Jim Finch is one of only a handful of people on this planet to play dobro with such a transcendent style and finesse. These guys know what the hell they're doin', and they've only just begun. Down in the holler at the end of the day I let it out, hootin' an' snortin' an' dancin' around There's no use puttin' ourselves to shame No use givin' it all away Just open up and let it out... "North" is the second release from Jeremiah Clark and the Lighter Thieves. It is the result of over a year's effort, care and craft put into every note. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it for you.
