BIO james gordon anderson Australian artist and producer, active in dance/electronica, postclassical & experimental pop james' unique style fuses the purity, space and rhythmic energy of minimalism with the sensuality of an orchestrally-conceived ambient sound world and the dark psychedelia of avant-garde and left field electronica. Artists as diverse as bill laswell, brian eno, karlheinz stockausen, steve reich, kruder & dorfmeister, arvo part, david sylvian, squarepusher & future sound of London are notable influences on the JGA sound and aesthetic. A background in classical and jazz performance led to writing, arranging, commissions and collaborations with avant-garde groups and soloists, scoring & production work for film & television, dance and theatre, and sound design, composition and remixes across a spectrum of musical styles and genres recent projects have included an experimental commission for ABC Radio (Australia) - 'blue sector'; sound design for Federation Square Interactives (Australian Centre for the Moving Image - Melbourne); music for Chunky Move Dance Company's world premiere production of 'Hydra'; a score for the award winning 'ICQ' (New York Independent Film Festival); and writing & production work across a gamut of musical genres (avant-garde, classical, rock, jazz, & electronica) into 2005 and beyond. Releases in 2004 include the double album 'Conquistadores' and most recently - 'Golden'
