Whiskey Melted Glass on CD

Jackhead was formed in Carbondale, Illinois in the winter of 1999 by rhythm guitarist Cecil Fuson, bassist Jake Deleonardis and lead guitarist Charlie Tabing. They forged a sound from influential Alt Country legends such as Uncle Tupelo, The Jayhawks, The Bottle Rockets, Steve Earle and Townes VanZandt. In 2001 Jackhead released their first album Steady Hand On The Gun which received mixed reviews by the local press. The band went on to play over 100 shows between the release of their first album and the release of their second album in January of 2003. Whiskey Melted Glass, the band's second release has put Jackhead on the map in the St Louis rock scene. The band begins work on their 3rd album in January of 2004 and expects to release it in the fall. Jackhead's live shows are reminiscent of the late 70's Neil Young and Crazy Horse. Charlie Tabing's lead guitar work is a fantastic blend of Blues, Country and Rock. Watching him stomp around the stage is a testimonial to why the name Jackhead fits this country rock outfit perfectly. Cecil Fuson sings with a soulful, honest and compressed tone. His lyrics can be best described as abstract story telling. Jake Deleonardis' bass is a stark contrast to Tabing's guitar. He lays a smooth, melodic bass line that gives drummer Nate Blach plenty of room to be creative while keeping everything tight. This band has been knocking around the Midwest for the last 4 years and continues to make advances in their song writing as well as redefining themselves musically.
