This Heart Beats Faster on CD

THIS HEART BEATS FASTER is The Jac Band's first studio album. A collection of 6 songs, this CD shows the band playing and recording more dynamic sounds and power than in their first recording 'What Is Real.' Two songs 'Lay Your Head' and 'The Airport Song' are carried over from that first CD. These slow, moody compositions are The Jac Band at their best. Chris, Alexandra, and John remarked 'We wanted to do these songs in the studio because we feel like we just scratched the surface on the first low-fi CD. We've worked so hard to find the right sounds for these tunes, and the right sound for the band in general, and we're just getting comfortable with them now. Spending a lot of time in the studio this summer allowed us to focus on making all the songs sound the way we want them to sound. While we did a lot of experimenting in the studio, we were also very conscious of keeping things intimate. Most of the basic tracks were done in one or two takes. We feel that in doing this we kept things fresh and not sounding too rehearsed. I think we discovered a lot about ourselves recording this CD. 'THIS HEART BEATS FASTER' is a well-rounded collection of mid to slow tempo songs. Some are undeniably pop ('Shores of Your Mind,' 'Days Go By'), while others get more experimental with sound and create darker moods and images. All the songs are characterized by the band's use of two and three-part harmony.
