Disparate on CD

The story of J-Uke started as Jon entered a music shop to buy a guitar as birthday present for his girlfriend. As a result of a very limited budget he bought a somewhat dwarfed four stringed 'guitar'. Whether the present itself was the cause for his girlfriend to dump him remains unknown, but she left Jon and the 'guitar' behind soon after. It took Jon considerable time to discover that the 'guitar' was actually an ukulele and it took a massive effort to learn to play the instrument. During this process he started to write his own songs. Throughout the learning process he took constant stick from his friends who claimed that the ukulele didn't suit the rock/pop songs he attempted to make. His friends' limited belief in Jon's vocal and instrumental qualities was an inspiration to him, so he made a promise to produce a CD with his own songs and to make it to the charts under his artist name J-Uke ('J' for Jon and 'uke' for, you guessed correctly, ukulele!). His first promise, to produce his very own CD, is already fulfilled (Daybreak). J-Uke's new album, 'Disparate' takes his listeners through the joyous 'A Wish', the whistful and jazzy 'Then I Fell', the stripped and intense ballad 'Mesmerized' before rounding off with 'The Chance', a powerful song bringing thoughts back to The Doors.
