Portraits on CD

Recently after a singing engagement Irwin Weinberger was approached by a happy audience member who exclaimed, "I feel so good after hearing you! You just may be the answer to the common cold!" Making audiences feel good comes naturally to Irwin who has made entertaining an important part of his life. With training in guitar, mandolin, sax, flute, and voice, he is able to perform with the ease only experience and the love of performing can bring. Irwin's involvement with music has taken many different forms: from recording and radio appearances, to live performances and music workshops. As an independent artist Irwin has recorded and produced two CDs of music. "Portraits" features 13 of his own compositions that reflect the diverse musical styles of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, and the Moody Blues. In this music collection Weinberger creates layers of musical tracks that incorporate his own voices and instruments. Both his enthusiasm and his excitement are what make Irwin's live performances a truly wonderful experience, both for him and his audiences. Whether he is playing at a coffeehouse concert or a joyous wedding, Weinberger reaches out to his audience in a meaningful way. His popularity is also due to his versatility as a musician. Playing a special song for a wedding reception, rocking out an "oldie, but a goodie" from the sixties, or singing folk songs around a campfire, Irwin is readily adaptable. Aside from his solo performing, Irwin is also a member of Cleveland based Yiddishe Cup Klezmer Band, devoted to the renewal of Jewish music. The band has played sold out concerts from Boca Raton to El Paso and has opened for such acts as War, Los Lobos, and Beausoleil. Thousands of fans have danced and sing to their exhilarating music, as well as listening to their renowned CDs: Klezmerized, Yiddfellas, and Meshuggeneh Mambo. Irwin is currently at work writing more original songs and has plans for future recording, along with his favorite occupation: performing for people.
