Story of the Eye on CD

IIrene's Garden (IG) started out over 20 years ago as The Stellectrics. The core of the band; Wheaty (keys), Sarah (vocals, guitar & percussion) & Jenny (vocals, guitar, keys & percussion) were there. Mike D. was the original lead guitar. Lead guitar, bass & drummers changed over the years. One thing that didn't change was the creativity. All the tunes were originals. All things change, and so did the Stellectrics. Out of the dust, IG was born. Both The Stellectrics and IG played at roadhouses, concerts, festivals, Universities and bars around the Midwest, primarily in Wisconsin and Minnesota. For many years, their home venue was the famous WITZ End in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, their hometown. The Stellectrics recorded three CDs. In the mid 1990'2 IG recorded their 1st (or 4th, however you look at it) CD, Winter Keepers. This recording featured Wheaty, Sarah, Jenny, with Rick on drums, Ed on bass and Ken on lead. Shortly after the release of Winter Keepers, Bob o' joined the band on percussion & harp. The next CD, At Our WITZ End was recorded live at WITZ End by Mercury Dave, who also did the mixing. This CD featured Wheaty, Sarah, Jenny, Rick, Bob o', with Jeff on lead and Bob on bass. All these limited-production CDs are sold out and are now collector's items. By this time, this band was really tight. It was not unusual for people to be dancing on the tables during concerts because the floor was filled with gyrating, sweaty grooven bodies. It was very fun! They took jam band and made art. At this time Jeff began to write The Story of the Eye, and the songs became a big part of IG's performances. In due time, The Story of the Eye was recorded at Artha Farm by Jeff, who also did the mixing. The artists were the same as At Our WITZ End except but with John on drums. The Story of the Eye is a beguiling tale of Bob, Jane, The Dark Lord and his Brother. As such, some graphics were called for. Mary illustrated the book that accompanies the CD. Note that the Bob in the story has no relation to either of the Bob's in the band. From the beginning, this band was at it's best on stage. It was rare for anyone to remain in their seats after just a few songs. The band loved this and the wilder the crowd, the more the band responded in kind. IG's CD release party was at The Mission in Stevens Point, where eyeballs literally flew everywhere!
