Iconoclast on CD

Iconoclast: One who attacks and seeks to overthrow traditional or popular ideas or institutions. Iconoclast is a band that embodies it's definition through what has been called "an aggressive wall of sound" by delivering powerful, poetic lyrics engulfed by melodically driving, incendiary musical arrangements. Iconoclast formed in May 2004 when the members singer Marc Bourgon, bassist Mike Korn, guitarist Mike Corkum, and drummer Mars Dej began months of writing and producing song concepts threaded from their varied musical backgrounds. Iconoclast began to find it's sound. Making a name for themselves in their hometown of Ottawa, Iconoclast quickly became one of the biggest draws in the independent music scene around the city. Playing to sold out crowds at Café Dekcuf, Mavericks, Zaphods, Babylon, Capital City Music Hall, The Live Lounge, and Barrymores. It wasn't long before promoters in other cities took notice and Iconoclast was playing to audiences throughout Ontario, winning several 'battle of the bands' along the way. Iconoclast continued to hone their sound and songs to the level where they were ready to release their first EP. 2006's 'Home' was met with acclaim from an ever-growing fan base and critics, selling out three times over, while again garnering the attention of local media. Iconoclast was featured on the A-Channel, CKCU FM, and in The Ottawa Citizen and The Ottawa Sun. Recently, Iconoclast became finalists in Live 88.5 FM's Big Money Shot contest, winning $10,000 in the city-wide competition. These trials and accomplishment have solidified Iconoclast's determination to write, tour, promote, and most importantly, perform. Iconoclast is the live performance. Their high-energy and interactive shows have been described as "escalating rock mayhem" and are the perfect reflection of their musical intensity. Their performances have led to Iconoclast being offered to share the stage with such acts as Danko Jones, Idle Sons, Money Money, Storm Large and the Balls, The Golden Dogs, and Sick Puppies. Now with the release of their self-titled EP and continuous touring, Iconoclast will not stop until the overthrow is complete.
