Outside the Van Door on CD

Hit by a Bus, one of Albuquerque's most beloved rock bands, is approaching it's eighth year of existence. Through the past eight years, they have acquired a diversity of interests and influences that are inevitably expressed in the music they meticulously craft. This quintet of curious and energetic youths assume a stage with a mission to move and a passion to prove themselves. Though they are young, the members of Hit by a Bus are no newcomers to music. Each one has years of experience playing their respective instruments and performing on stage. In September of this year, the band recorded at Radiostar Studios in Weed, CA. This sophomore release was produced by Sylvia Massy Shivy (System of a Down, Tool, Johnny Cash, Sevendust) and Rich Veltrop (Rage Against the Machine, Slayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, 311). The band has independently released it's full-length debut, Outside the Van Door, which was recorded by Grammy-nominated Tim Stroh at his acclaimed Stepbridge Studios in Santa Fe, NM. 'Hit by a Bus' debut reveals an impressive blend of hardcore rock and borderline techno beats, punk and metal guitar figures, and a whole host of juicy pop elements taht, taken as a whole, offer multiple moments of sheer delight. The record's harder side is expertly performed, while the more ambient material is equally as effective in it's subtleties.' --Michael Henningsen, The Alibi, V.13 No.37, September 9-September 15, 2004. Hit by a Bus has shared the stage with the likes of April Sixth, KJ52, The Romantics, Barefoot Bride, Breaking Benjamin, Greyscale, and then some. They have performed for crowds of 500+. They've planned and executed their own DIY tour around the southwest and with plan on taking the rest of the nation by storm. Hit by a Bus plans to embellish their music with further discoveries, to attempt to satisfy their curiosity by experiencing the world around them, and to continue to express what they see, feel, react to, and reach for with bleeding fingers, strained voices, and open hearts.
