My Inside on CD

In an era riddled with passing trends and cookie cutter artists Oakland California emcee Hiright walks his own path. Heartfelt rhymes flavored with insight, internal angst and raw lyrical flow over a palette of melancholy yet rhythm driven beats best describe this artists music. A fan of Rap since the late eighties and die hard fan since the early nineties Hiright turned his passionate observation into being a part of the movement . " My Inside" Hiright's debut album is a reflection of a life diverse in experience and observation. From his upbringing in Hawaii to his current residency in Oakland all giving him a well-rounded view on life, love, and the injustices we face in todays society. The album features songs with Celsius 7(Psychokinetics), Prozack Turner (Foreign Legion) and Jern-Eye (lunar Heights). Currently working with Celsius 7 of bay area hip-hoppers the Psychokinetics. Hiright has had the pleasure doing shows with Krs 1 Sweatshop Union (Canada) Foreign legion, Phat Kat, Illadapted and a slew of others artists with the same passion for keeping music progressive and alive. Along with the release of his debut album "My Inside" Hiright also had the honor of being featured on the latest Bomb Hip-Hop compilation. Bomb Hip-Hop Compilation Volume 2. A best of the bay follow-up to the ground breaking 1994 Volume 1 which featured early Peanut Butter Wolf and Q-bert. "Music gives me a sense of self, we are always changing and evolving and I want my music to be a reflection of that" Soon to be released will be "Label me a Dreamer' A seven song EP comprised of socio-political and introspective pieces Hiright made over a three month period. "These songs have a time stamp on them." " So I am interested in how they are received."" We were ending an administration and I had just returned from a month in southeast asia. " "People nowadays are so into what's next but don't realize nine times out of ten that what's next is a new version of what was, just in different packaging" "I want to change that !" A new era of eighties babies with something to say and with means to say it! Progressive, insightful, passionate, few words could say more. Take note youngsters! So When the dust settles from the age of apathy and passive obedience. When people are craving depth and awareness rather than material objects. Hiright will be standing firm with his pen in one hand and Mic in the other.
