Hidden Hits 1 / Various on CD

'Hidden Hits Volume 1' contains 25 rare, hard-to-find songs, 3 of which have never been released until now (#2, 16, 17). Others had some success when they were first released. All deserve to be rediscovered - hence the title 'Hidden Hits.' Artists and groups included in this CD are Chubby Checker, The Hi-Tones, Len Barry, The Executive Suite, Maureen Gray, Johnny Caswell, Race Street Chinatown Band, The Alliance, The Sultans, Eddie Custis, The Mellow Moods, Carl & The Commanders, The Hearts, The Lavenders with Leon Huff, The Alliance and Cupid. This CD is presented by songwriter/record producer, John Madara, through That Philly Sound, which is dedicated to the music that came out of Philadelphia during the 50's and 60's. Many of the songs on the CD were written and produced by John Madara and partner, Dave White. They also wrote and produced such timeless classics as AT THE HOP (Danny and The Juniors), THE FLY (Chubby Checker), 1-2-3 (Len Barry, who co-wrote the song with Madara & White) and YOU DON'T OWN ME (Leslie Gore). These and countless other hit records by Madara & White helped to make up 'The Sound of Philadelphia.' This historical CD contains valuable information, when available, on the musicians who played on each song as well as the date the song was recorded and the studio where it was recorded. Two of the musicians were unknowns, Leon Huff and Daryl Hall, both discovered by John Madara, before they hooked up with Kenny Gamble and John Oates. All songs have been digitally restored and digitally mastered to give you the very best quality available. Make this historical CD a part of your oldies record collection!
