Ambition on CD

From dark musty rooms with old violins on the wall to screaming pump bass in the South Florida club circuit, there the G man honed his craft. Nurtured as a tot on the likes of Bach and Mozart, a healthy injection of (among others) Beatles,Zepp metal, Doobies and the Dan changed the landscape forever. And so armed with my trusty '67 cherry red Gibson SG (standard) we slogged through marathon top forty gigs from the early '70s on thru to the late '90s playing (or trying to play) these great classic songs. I noticed that many of them had a kind of perrenial staying power,an 'entertaining' quality that lasted through the years. And well, ya know I always admired that in a song the inspiration of which became the songs of 'Ambition'. I would be greatly remiss if I didn't give credit where credit is due. Thanks must be given to Mary Potter who sang vocals on many of these songs and whose tireless efforts will hopefully not go unnoticed by the music industry. Also Mr. Ed Fitzgerald lent his considerable mixing talents and time to help create something eminently listenable from a virtual mishmash dumped in his lap. Thanks Ed. To Jeff Iorio and Jim Felicio, who graced 'Little Lilly' and 'Someone will always be there' repectively with keyboards and Steel guitar, my heartfelt appreciation for your help. And so was borne 11 polished demos traveling a river of semi-sweet nostalgia and acidic remembrance to a leap into infinity. Well, maybe a tad overstated but I've mixed up a stew. Several parts electric rockyfunk with some dreamy jazzpop, a pinch of white Reggae, Beatle infused Southern swing, one part retro '70s folk rock, early eighties pop country and a few other odds and ends sure to delight and tantalize. My 'Ambition' is putting a smile on your face and a tune in your heart. Hope you enjoy. H By the way, for all you hard core HG enthusiasts out there (and you know who you are), the song Cassy was sung by the illegitimate child of Elvis and Dean Martin.(Thanks Dave) More to come. Love.
