Cobbler's Dream/ Le Rave Du Cordonnier on CD

"This duo has been working in harmony for a long time, and their CD will transport you from one musical universe to another thanks to their passion."--Guy Bouchard, Thirty Below CD catalogue Laurie Hart of New York State on fiddle, nyckelharpa, and Hardanger fiddle Paul Marchand of Québec on guitar, vocals, and feet percussion Their 2005 CD, Cobbler's Dream/Le Rêve du cordonnier, includes songs as well as tunes from France, Brittany, Québec, Ireland and Scandinavia. Their previous CD (all québécois) is Danse ce soir! Laurie and Paul are actively touring in the US and Canada, offering concerts, workshops and dances with a mix of musical styles. Paul Marchand is one of the premier guitarists and singers in the Québec folk scene. As a member of Manigance and Entourloupe Paul has performed all over North America and Europe and recorded many fine albums. Laurie Hart is a fiddler from Ithaca, New York specializing in Northern European and French Canadian music. She also plays Norwegian Hardanger fiddle and Swedish nyckelharpa. Reviews of Cobbler's Dream "Duo Hart-Marchand's Cobbler's Dream bursts with lyricism and expertise. Hart's light fleeting touch joined by Marchand's great versatility as a guitarist produce a better CD than I have heard in a long time. The mood shifts from wistful to merry and back again, and the French words are really interesting. It's a must!" -- Mia Boynton, folklorist and guitarist 'Warm and exquisite.' -- Sandy Cowan, dancer "I really enjoy listening to your new CD ...it is just one piece of beautiful music after the other." --Rich Sobel, fiddler, Vancouver BC "The CD has a great variety of genres and timbres. We especially like the fiddle/vocal harmonies." Rick Biesantz, multi-instrumentalist.
