Here in the Underground on CD

Though he's been known mostly as the keyboard player for the east coast rock band Mr. Greengenes, Harry Francis is about to make his own mark on the world. Inspired by his love for songwriting and hopes of someday being a solo artist, Harry has released his debut CD entitled 'here in the underground' on his own label, Littleman Records. His 1999 debut CD demonstrates his love for pop/rock music and catchy melodies along with his diverse sense of style. His ever growing list of awards and achievements include: - 5 top 10 finishes in the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest (1998-1999) - 1st place finish in the pop category of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (1999) - Harry's song 'Free' spent 4 weeks at #1 on pop/rock charts on Garageband.com (2001) - Two 'Song of the Year' nominations in Modern Rock and Pop in the Just Plain Folks music awards.(2001) - 4th place for 'Album of the Year' in the Just Plain Folks music awards.(2001) - Top 10 finish in the pop category of the USA Songwriting Contest (2001) In the last few years, Harry and Mr. Greengenes have performed for over three quarters of a million people and have shared the stage with such notable acts as Veruca Salt, Better than Ezra, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Jefferey Gaines, G-love, Cowboy Mouth, the Commitments, Marcy Playground, and Garrison Star to name a few. Harry has also studied songwriting with Rob Hyman, songwriter and keyboardist for the 80's band the 'Hooters' as well as songwriter of the Grammy nominated #1 hit by Cyndi Lauper, 'Time after Time'. As a songwriter, Harry is a member of BMI, the LA based independent A+R group TAXI, and the Philadelphia chapter of NARAS. He occasionally speaks and lectures in schools and music camps about songwriting and the music business. Harry holds a B.S. degree in Music Education from West Chester University and was a former middle school and elementary music teacher. '...leagues above most unsigned acts.' - former major label A+R rep '...a smashing piece.' - MODE magazine, Harrisburg PA 'This is one of those releases that drives a reviewer to throw so many superlatives into a review that it could be embarrassing.' - Bryan Baker, GAJOOB.com, on-line music magazine With all that he has done and accomplished at age 31, his lifelong goal is to someday win a Grammy. If 'here in the underground' is any indication of things to come, Harry Francis is on the right track.
