If Not Tonight on CD

Haiku Rd. Is Phoenix's own, acoustic, folk/alternative rock outfit (with an occasional Celtic flavor). The trio of Chris Devine, Erik Hendel, and Richard E. Moore showcase acoustic music with passion, energy and authenticity in the debut album, If Not Tonight ..., and rich harmonies and raw energy mix with wit and fun for diversely entertaining live performances. If you took all our influences and make, not a soup exactly, but more of a goulash, that's sort of how it goes ... a chunk of Scottish folk here, a spoonful of REM, garnish with Lowen & Navarro or Peter Gabriel and a generous dollop of ... well, you get the picture. And like goulash, it all comes off as more than the sum of it's ingredients. Once we were told that we sounded like like a 'Celtic Crosby, Stills and Nash.' We think that's a little limiting, but it might give you starting point. If Not Tonight ... is a painstakingly crafted collection of songs on which we built our performance repertoire combined with other new songs written specifically for this project, resulting in an organic, energetic and just plain swell CD. Swinging from folksy (think Kingston Trio with electric guitars) to rocky (think of your favorite '90s alternative rock band, but with acoustic guitars), to singer-songwritery and all points in between, with a quick sight-seeing side trip to Motown (at least as far as the bass line and guitar solo on Dirty Wind). Diverse, melodic, harmonic, and sometimes just plain fun!
