Chasing Waves on CD

'You'll never be a soloist' said her junior high teacher... that's all this little engine needed to climb the hill... and she's been going full-steam-ahead ever since, spreading the message of love, hope and faith to audiences from Tokyo to Seattle. Gwen's debut CD, entitled 'Chasing Waves' was released in December of 2001. This ten song project has the sound, look and feel of a big budget release. 'We wanted quality on a shoe-string budget and that took perseverance, patience and a lot of people cheering us on,' says Gwen. Gwen's music has the Indigo Girls rhythm with a Paula Cole punch. Her vocals are best described as honey sweet with a kick and her lyrics are well cut gems that set her apart from the ordinary stones. The National Association of Christian Singers and Songwriters recognized Gwen as a 'Top 25' songwriter for songs on this debut. Gwen collaborates with husband and lyricist, Jay Inokuchi, as well as, producer, Kent Peterson, a studio musician and veteran performer. Gwen adds, 'I prefer the team approach to song writing, and I'm grateful to have a dynamic duo in Jay and Kent.' But the credits don't stop there; she had the good fortune of working with engineer, Rafael Carmany of Cobalt Studios who has also contributed to the production and engineering of mega stars, Elton John and Garth Brooks. Gwen was born to sing and she does it with passion. While her peers were reading teen magazines and learning to bake with Betty Crocker, Gwen sang. Using her bed as a stage and a sofa leg as a mic she practiced countless hours and before long moved from the bedroom to competitions, community events and coffee houses in Texas, California and Washington. Now armed with her well-crafted songs, talented band and years of perseverance this 'little engine' knows she can!
