Head on CD

GS34 (Gee ess three four) is a band based out of Brooklyn, NY. Something truley orginal is not easily described, much like the music of GS34. From 2008 Grammy award nominee for Producer of the Year, Ron Thaler, who described their music as something that \'has a lot of scope - unlike most of the music I hear that can be easily defined within a box.\' Their music comes from spontaneous energy and natural ability that has been honed over the past 10 years - when John and Matt met each other in Mansfield, Ma (home of Great Woods). In their music you will hear a culmination of the band\'s influences. John\'s influences include: Melodic brit-pop, Golden era hip-hop, acoustic rock, and classic rock. Matthew\'s influence include: Anything he can get his hands on. Head is a taste of the extensive catalogue that GS34 has put together over the past few years. Painting the American landscape with music is not easy, but GS34 has made an attempt at capturing the United States, and for that matter, the larger world as they see it. Songs range from the innocent ballad, \'Automatic,\' that opens the album, to the emotional, political, Beatles influenced \'Head Chopped Off\' (think the White Album). In between the emotional spectrum of these two songs, you will find the party song \'Everybody Loves Head\' and the song for \'Generation Apathy\' - \'Maybe The Ocean.\' Songs on the album have a diverse arrangement. Whether it\'s the acoustic \'Automatic,\' the jam band \'Everything\'s a Drug,\' the piano-based \'Paige,\' the string quartet on \'L.A.#2,\' everything is done tastefully and as to not get in the way of the songs meaning.
