Night Before on CD

Greg Porée - An accomplished (composer-arranger-producer-guitarist), Greg Porée has worked with a diverse group of musicians ranging from Ray Charles and Diana Ross to Sting and Phoebe Snow. Greg can be heard on landmark albums from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Stanley Turrentine, Randy Crawford, Albert King, Ahmad Jamal, Benny Golson and Donald Byrd. As a musical director his credits include Sonny and Cher,The Supremes, Gladys Knight and the Pips and Joan Baez. Between solo albums Greg can be found composing, playing and arranging for film and television and producing groundbreaking solo albums for artists such as world music master Vinx and Gretchen Lieberum. Despite a long and outstanding reputation as a studio musician, I felt I had no reference for doing my musical compositions on my own. 'The Night Before' was my first CD and therefore my first effort for testing the waters with my own music. I knew it was time to start recording my own ideas, one day I was confronted by a good friend who said, he would invest the money to make it happen. Until then I had always supported and produced other artists but it was now time to do that for myself. I started recording at the beginning of 2004 and completed my first solo album six months later. I compiled a CD of originals with the exception of Gustav Holst's 'O God Beyond All Praising' and 'Air' by Daniel Purcell, from the 16th century. Greg Porée.
