Wooden Floors on CD

As 2007 became 2008, four friends met in a South East London café to discuss the finer points of contemporary music and the merits of a good hearty fry up. Plans to set up their own rehearsal studio/musical bunker/HQ became reality and soon the odd jamming session gave way to proper songwriting, with a view to building a set to record and gig under the newly adopted moniker, The Grandaughters. Having established themselves on the London scene in 2008, The Grandaughters are now set to invade the south coast and summer festivals in 2009. Their London following continues to grow with upcoming gigs including The Specials' afterparty at the Brixton Jamm and a slot at the prestigious Barfly in Camden, whilst their assault on national radio began in February with airplay on Tom Robinson's BBC 6 Music show '6 Music Introducing: Fresh On The Net'. Drawing from their love of indie influences The Killers, Athlete and Editors and borrowing increasingly heavily from the often-raided vaults of electro, The Grandaughters continue to set out their vision of the future of British rock 'n' roll. New songs are currently being jammed out at the HQ and, with recording sessions being lined up in June for the third EP, watch this space for an eventful 2009! 'There is much charm and potential here I think. Reminds me of early Coldplay, before they were signed, but with a nice little synth twist.' Eddy Temple-Morris (Xfm) Dave | Jamie | Chris | Neil.
