GRAFIC INTERNATIONAL BIOGRAPHY Grafic International's appreciation of music is a childhood dream turned into reality. My father was a major influence on my musical background. He encouraged me to sing in the youth choir at St. James Baptist Church where I developed my strong and soulful sound as a lead singer for the choir. I then learned to read sheet music at Jackson Jr. High as a member of the Jr. High marching band where I played First Chair, Alto Sax. I developed my rythmic style at Greater Victory Temple Church of God in Christ where I played the drums. My life's experiences, blended with the influences of others, took me away from the music (peer pressure). But now, I am back. My name was as skillfully orchestrated as my mission. 'Grafic' (graphic) was chosen because it reflects the natural raw format that I chose to present my music. 'International' represents human nature, which is universal. Every thought and experience is international and is not limited by race or gender. My company (Graft Records Inc.) was created with the intent to produce music with direction, style and originality. Together they are grafted with natural survival-of-the fittest human instincts. I am the illigetimate child of America and a true soilder of life. I consider my lifestyle to be that of a 'hustler' which can be defined as a self-starter, a go-getter, or a work-a-holic. These are words that I feel represent my life's experiences as an entrepreneur, business owner and visionary. My purpose is to produce music that breaks down barriers and provides positive motivation in life's hustle. Much of the rap music today speaks about glamour or the 'bling-bling' but does not provide enough positive guidance towards reaching that status. I want to offer some options to change that mentatlity, and I want to do it with style while I'm 'keeping it 100'. My first production, 'Respect My Pimpin, Life of a Street Hustler' was created to show that I can qualify and compete in the Rap Industry. I fear no competition because I have a positive purpose in it. The raw format has shock value. The gift in my music is that while you listen, there is a positive message in the maddness. You can believe that you will graft something from it, because it is true to life. 'That's Graft'
