The Golden Eagle String Band, Smithsonian/Folkways recording artists, have been performing in the Northeastern United States for over 25 years. They have recorded and performed for the Smithsonian Institute, the World Canal Conference, Mystic Seaport and toured under a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Golden Eagle String Band has performed for folk festivals, bluegrass festivals, canal festivals and general concerts for museums, colleges and historical societies. Band members include: Eric Carlson, guitar and harmonica; Dwight Garrow, fiddle and mandolin; Bill Hullfish, Irish whistle and flute; Mike Mumford, concertina, banjo and mandolin; and Ron Perry, string bass. The band's repertoire includes 100s of old-time fiddle tunes (The Reconciliation, Cuckoo's Nest, Seneca Square Dance, Midnight on the Water, Opera Reel, Kesh Jig, Scolley's Reel, Bouchard's Hornpipe); standard folk songs (Lord of the Dance, Maid on the Shore, Goin' Down the Road Feeling Bad, Simple Gifts, So Long, It's Been Good to Know You, Wildwood Flower); Inland Waterway songs (E-ri-e, Low Bridge, Everybody Down, It's the Inland Lakes for Me, Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, The Mary Ellen Carter, Raging Canal, Haul on the Bowline); Bluegrass songs (My Window Faces the South, Old Man at the Mill, Dooley, Man of Constant Sorrow, Who Will Sing for Me? Ramshackle Shack); Swing and Ragtime (Big Time Woman, Woody's Rag, Johnson Rag); Gospel (In the Sweet By and By, I'll Fly Away, Amazing Grace, Joy, Joy, Joy).
