Up to a Better Place on CD

Gabriel's Groove fuses jazz rhythms, funk riffs, and a distinct folk sensibility into a sound that is truly genre-defying. The band is reputed throughout Fairfield County for it's live performances; technical prowess is married to unbridled intensity for an unforgettable concert experience. The members of Gabriel's Groove are: Alexis Babini - guitar, vocals, occasional piano, dulcimer, and banjo Alexis writes all the songs for the band and then through somewhat of a process of evolution the songs form into band originals. Alexis often does solo shows on the guitar and performs his songs acoustic. The last show he did was at the Green Room in Fairfield. Other artists that played at that show were Larissa DeLorenzo, a dynamic folk singer, and Feel Theory, a well known jamband act that hosts open jam at the acoustic café. Ryan Whiteaker - guitar, vocals Ryan and Alexis make up the base of Gabriel's Groove and were the starting members. Ryan leads the music program for a youth group organization called Young Life on their weekend trips. He has also played in the band 'The Gathering' featuring Jon Rogers. Ken Brown - Drums, jimbaye Ken has been playing drums for 7 years. He studies many different types of percussion, including jazz drums and classical percussion. He is also a part of the Jim Royle Drum Studio Advanced Percussion Ensemble, which plays many concerts in the Fairfield County area. Alexandra Eckhardt - Bass As a female bassist, Alex gets a lot of attention. She plays bass in her school jazz band and has been playing bass and studying jazz for 6 years. With her variety of bass lines, she pulls the sound of the band together. PS She also played at Carnegie Hall.
