I Think I Need a Vacation on CD

Fredy Argir was born in Hibbing, Minnesota, and has lived in and worked out of Austin, Texas, for the past 40 years. He cut his first record in Austin in 1968, and has made at least one album every decade since then, ten solo recordings to date. He toured for five years on the National College Coffeehouse Circuit in the 1970s, and has lived in San Francisco, Minneapolis, and New York, but his base has always been Austin. He's appeared with a wide variety of American music icons, and has headlined music venues across the country, from the Bitter End in New York to the Winnipeg Folk Festival to the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin. Best-known for his unique electric guitar style and enduring songs, Fredy continues to write, record and tour. This album, cut in 2004, was the second of two Stephen Bruton-produced Fredy Argir albums. (The first was ONE MAN DANCING.) With the exception of the basic tracks, most of this album was cut in Fredy's busy Lake 505 Studio. At this same time, Stephen was filming THE ALAMO in Austin. According to Fredy, 'Other crazy stuff was beginning to happen across the board, too. And it was all captured on this CD before it actually took place. I wrote the songs, and then they happened. That doesn't happen every day. And it won't happen with me again, you can be sure of that!'
