Remnants on CD

Denver Colorado's For a Few has one philosophy when a new song is conceived--if it's a good song, then it's a good song. There's no need to try and fit it into a certain genre, and what works for one song might not necessarily work for another. Songs are not written with classifications in mind: here's the 'punk anthem', this is the 'screamo song', and this one is the 'rock ballad'. Songs cannot be spontaneous that way. Rather, songs are written entirely separate from the others. They flow with their own emotions and each song realizes itself by it's own volition. Comparative to life, the direction a song takes is often unpredictable: sometimes you're given what you want; every once in a while you get what you didn't even know that you needed; and occasionally, everything is fun and carefree. However, the final product is not a palate of conflicting colors; each song has it's own place, and each one is stamped with the original sound that is For a Few. Virtually influenced by every classification of music, each member of For a Few brings something unique to the song writing table. Chaos and confusion are the best ways to describe FAF's writing process. Songs are written and rewritten. Lyrics are laid down and then changed. Complete songs are scrapped only to be revitalized at a later time. Songs never 'write themselves' as the saying goes; there's a high level of personal involvement that goes into every session. 'Remnants', (the title track from the upcoming release) is an opening build of drums, followed by trance inducing bass, and scorching guitars. Soul piercing vocals permeate throughout. This is the epitome of For a Few. There is a constant rise and release all through the song; a sense of confused emotion. 'Remnants' is exactly that; after listening, you're left with the pieces of a song and a question of 'what can I take with me?' That same emotion coupled with infectious energy carries over to their live performances. They have played shows with bands in many different genres of rock. Whether it be metal, punk, or indie rock, For a Few has been able to convert audiences into believers. With a sound that's just heavy enough, yet melodic, FAF grabs the attention of all willing listeners. The level of excitement and crowd interaction they bring speaks volumes. Stage antics abound which help to illustrate the story of their music and encourage audiences to speak their minds. The shiest of wallflowers are dared to get up and have a good time. Opening hearts and minds, and always 'rocking faces', For a Few reminds everyone why it is better to come out and see a show than to sit at home.
