Change of Atmosphere on CD

A Change of Atmosphere was the final CD that featured Fishkill as simply a one-man recording project. There's a wide range of musical styles on this record and the music takes on a presence all it's own. Songwriter Chris Nelson claimed at the time of it's release in 2003 'This was the best record I could've made by myself. I don't think anything else I do by myself will ever be able to compare with this.' The band concept had been narrowed down to the basic guitar, drums, and bass format with only one song featuring a keyboard. This new leaner sound would ultimately pave the way for the current three-piece lineup the band enjoys today. In addition, there's a broader range of styles than on the previous records, including an attempt at reggae/ska and nu-metal. Sometimes the music was interpreted in ways the artist never intended! The track 'Stormcloud' was picked up by a goth rock station, getting some heavy airplay at the time. 'The Worst Part Of It All' wound up on a european hardcore punk station for a while as well. Fishkill has the ability to gain an audience in almost every musical genre they explore.
