Fernando Cavalcanti de Melo, nasceu em Maceio, Alagoas, Brasil. Foi ex-combatente e trabalhou por muitos anos no Servico de Defesa dos Direitos Autorais. Casou-se com a cantora Venir Andrade e percorreu varias cidades do Brasil fazendo shows e cantando com sua esposa. Junto com Venir, foi convidado a cantar na Radio Difusora de Alagoas, participando de sua inauguracao em 1948. Fernando Cavalcanti compos mais de 100 musicas e foi premiado em mais de 15 cancoes. Sua filha, Sonja Melo, canta com ele em seis de suas musicas. Minhas Cancoes is a collection of 15 original songs written and sung by Brazilian artist Fernando Cavalcanti. It contains songs about many of the beautiful states and cities of Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Recife, Alagoas, Bahia, and Rio Grande do Sul, as well as Christian and patriotic songs that will stir the heart. Fernando Cavalcanti de Melo, was born in Maceio, Alagoas, Brazil. He is a decorated World War II veteran of the elite Brazilian Expeditionary Force and after the war worked for many years in the Music Copyright Office of Brazil. He was married to the singer Venir Andrade and toured many cities in Brazil, performing shows and singing together with his wife. Along with Venir, he was invited to sing in the Radio Difusora de Alagoas, participating of it's inauguration in 1948. Fernando Cavalcanti has composed more than 100 songs, 15 of which have won awards. His daughter, Sonja Melo, sings with him on six songs in this album.
