Renacer on CD

Dance-club ready debut salsa release from vocalist Fabian Nodarse who come to us via the Netherlands. This is pop salsa with stylish, crescendo building arrangements with some tracks reminiscent in the style of, say, Marc Anthony with romantic introductions turning into something driven much harder. There are also winks to Puerto Rico, and later to Colombia - with the almost timba-cumbia blend 'Te Anduve Buscando.' 'Renacer' and 'Sigue Sin Mí' are also fine DJ picks. On june, the 19 th, 1974 Fabian Nodarse Perdomo was born in Havana, Cuba. "When I was young, I thought the world of sports. At the age of seven, I was selected by a commission to go to the sports school. Basketball was my favourite. I studied sports for six years, not realising that music was my destination. I come from a musical family. My grandfather was a well known musician Marcos Perdomo. He was the singer and founder of the orquestra Sublime. He was also a great writer. He wrote a lot of popular songs such as "El bobo de la yuca", "Lamparitas de noche" and others. Some time after this Benny Moré recorded "El bobo de la yuca". It's still a song that everybody knows in Cuba. My grandfather taught me the beauty of music. He was my inspiration and it was because of him that I got to know the world of music. I remember that when I was little I used to visit him and his house was always full of musicians practising. I realise now that this was the beginning for me. I carried music in my veins. When I started secondary school I decided for the school of music. I took extra singing lessons in the theatre of Havana 'Federico Garcia Lorca'. At the same time I started to perform in bands. This was a great learning experience for me. The "street" has been very important to my education. Since the year 1999 I live in Holland. I was able to continue my singing career here. My wife helped me a lot; she introduced me to many colleagues with whom I still work nowadays. To be part of Rumbatá has been a great experience. Also working with groups like "La Banda Iré", "Saoco" and "Latin Feeling" has taught me a great deal. There are some great musicians working here; if I'd have to start mentioning names, I wouldn't know where to start. When I decided to make my own CD I was lucky that some of these musicians wanted to participate on it.
