Life Is a Journey on CD

Life is a journey consists of ten (10) original songs that provide a passageway into the heart of human emotion. Writing the music and recording has been a life-long dream for 'Emage' Band members Emily Standeven, Rich Standeven, Rick Martin, Ryan Sorrell, Mark Saldana and John Lamkin. This C.D. takes the listener back to the days when lyrics and music mattered while providing a modern 'edged' sound. Two of the songs on this C.D. 'Stranger Things Have Happened' and ' Doves' show-case the talent of nineteen year old vocalist Emily Standeven. Emily's voice provides a natural clarity that is refreshing to hear in a time when Techno-voices are all the rage. The remaining band members consist of Rich Standeven (Guitar and Vocals), Rick Martin (Percussion), Ryan Sorrell (Key Boards and vocals), Mark Saldana (Percussion), and John Lamkin (Bass) Emage performs on a regular basis primarily in Texas. Emage has performed at engagements in San Francisco and Palm Springs. The repertoire consists of a variety of songs from classic rock to Mo-Town as well as original music. THE SONGS on 'Life is a Journey' 1. The Journey begins with 'Stranger Things Have Happened', which speaks to a Love so Fine yet unsure. 2.The title cut of this C.D. (Life is a Journey) challenges the listener to measure their successes by the Love they have shown. 3. The song 'Waves' is all about unwinding in a Tropical Paradise. 4.'Where did you go' and 5.'The Passion Seems so Distant', consider Lost Love's lament. 6.' A little More Time' Relates to the speed at which life goes by and the struggle to experience as much as we can 7. 'Doves' and 8. 'Always With You ' provide images of the joy of Life Long Love. 9. The Reprise is a haunting acoustical mix of the title track. 10. The Journey ends with ' The Gift' which is the realization that sometimes the greatest gift is just being your self. All of the songs on this album were written by 'Emage' and all instruments were played by the band. Emage recorded this C.D. in the heart of the Forest's of Eastern Texas.
