Description

New Day of Darkness on CD

Think of angels and ghosts, alien artists, Brian Eno, '67 Red Crayola and mid-70's Miles Davis, and you might come up with something like the Elevator Tribe. Think of experimental music, poetry, echoes and exploration...an audience invited to play with a crate of musical intruments, and found objects that make music... The Elevator Tribe were formed on Halloween in 1996 by poet/drummer/music producer, John Stout. The first CD, ELEVATOR TRIBE (2000), explores the relationship between people of earth and beings from other worlds. ELEVATOR TRIBE is a concept album based on a woman from space who crash lands on earth and needs to rebuild her space craft. While she is repairing her vehicle she sets an example for the artists of earth, who then rebuild their own identity as creative people. The most recent CD, New Day Of Darkness (2001), was recorded in a round house in southern Vermont. Many of the first album's elements are present in New Day Of Darkness, along with themes of angels and of ghosts who appear near.
