Sphere Acid Burn on CD

Sphere Acid Burn by Earnest Woodall Reviewed by Gordon M. for the 130 BPM Blog Sphere Acid Burn is an impressionistic adventure through the emotions and situations of the modern world. Though, it is not stylistically impressionistic (eg. Debussy) it's construction is similar to that of a Monet painting, full of color and emotion, but without the whole picture right there. It is only when you step back and put together the pieces that one realizes the full meaning of the album. However within each track lays a self contained piece of wisdom. As each piece ventures you move further through a cycle of emotions. A sense of increased acceptance of the bitter sweet melodies and arrangements Mr. Woodall shows the listener and then a strange calm is felt as if you knew for an instant the meaning of life. Tracks: 1. In The New World Order - The darkness of evil and light are shown in an ashen landscape where there is no place to hide from the unrelenting ostinato of confusion. 2. Sphere Acid Burn - The barren white tundra suspends you in a psuedo-purgatory as a concrete fugue develops from voices and flutes 3. Port Authority - As the blue water laps on the shore it carries you deep into the foggy depths of a sea where all is on it's head 4. Domestic Insanity - You now find yourself washed up and living in a drug infested trailer park with no hope of ever escaping. 5. Talking Heads - Finding your way into an ultra realistic representation of the yellow cowardice of modern society saved only by a lingering piano in an eerie show of the benefits of the modern worlds as each instrument fits in in a machinelike trance to form an intricate aural experience. 6. Mystic Feline - As the desire of knowledge begins to consume you, and much is hidden. The want for knowledge and the wonder of the world ultimately will consume you much like a cats curiosity. 7. Sand Trap - Now you apporoach in a barren desert of pleasure abandond by curiousity leaving only the red heat of your own self-judgement 8. Civic Duty - The royal purple of hope is found in a calming serene seclusion in the wilderness, just past the trials of the Tudor family moral desert. 9. Lost in the Field - You now find yourself walking once again through the cold arctic tundra abandoning the past in a calm ambient soundscape, looking now only towards a hopeful future. However, you have trouble making it to the end. 10. Call Waiting - Once again the dark insane weight of the 21st century world pushes down on your fragile shoulders, but this time you have a sense of calm wisdom and you lay down to take your final breath.
