FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE...... PATCH Records releases the restless and stirring folk debut album from the Toulouse Troubadour - Dyl. Folk Off is on! Trou·ba·dour n. 1. One of a class of 12th-century and 13th-century lyric poets in Southern France, northern Italy, and northern Spain, who composed songs in langue d'oc often about courtly love. 2. A strolling minstrel. I first came to know Dyl's musical soul in the throes of musicians out on that cyberspace frontier. We met as songwriters sharing our writing, plying our trade, ever reaching to strike the fine balance of entertainment and individual catharsis through lyric and melody. I was captivated by the voice and guitar style emanating from Toulouse, France that had a worldly abandon and wisdom. I did not discover Dyl to release this record as much as his talent and musical focus demanded that a record be made. It's not often in the pace and wrangle of this modern world that a man can gather your spirit and emotions up and take you to another place with his voice and guitar. Dyl is in every literal and figurative sense of the word, a Troubadour. Folk Off is the essence of this Troubadour verite' taking us along the streets, the fields and plains, in the dark alleys, the back of dimly lit rooms, the sweaty pubs and stolid gin joints, all in the name of an existentialism that will capture you as it did me. Bringing his unique interpretations to other artists' songs and placing you front and center for the story in his own writing, Folk Off is a proud moment for PATCH Records because Dyl's talents deserve more than just a digital glimpse. He has paid his dues in a restless folk and alt country that blends as much punk attitude as it does worldly wisdom. In a disposable short-attention society - this record makes you stop and buy a ticket for the whole ride. John LaMantia President - PATCH Records ****** Press ALTCOUNTRY.NL MAGAZINE 4 of 5 stars !!! 'a beautiful album from an authentic talent' ****** What artist peers are saying... Music is a very powerful thing. Deeply emotive, achingly poignant, uplifting. It takes a passionate performance to elicit these responses from the listener. Some of us try to do our craft with honesty and grace, but we don't always hit the mark. Some of us never get close. Then there are a rare few who always capture the essence of a song. Song singers. People who own whatever they sing. They love music so much that there is no other choice but to sing, and when their voices are raised, the rest of us are better for it. My pal Dylan is one of those rare souls. A true fan and a passionate lover of songs. His voice is all of our voices. It aches and hurts and loves and is joyful in that true voice we all recognize. Unpretentious, familiar, and comfortable. When I grow up, I want to sing like Dyl. Anything he sings, I want to hear. Wallace Landreth, Songwriter Smack Dab in the Middle of Canada Such a big fan of your original work and your choices of 'choice' covers -- you always take us there, and 'there' is always a place that we see in a new light with your gentle delivery. I, for one, appreciate your artist's heart displayed vulnerably upon your sleeve, shining tail lights on potholes you've hit in the hopes that we might dodge them ourselves. Paul Nicholson, Songwriter Virginia, USA Dylan, you are an artist that has the ability to adapt to almost any genre that interests you, while still retaining your own distinctive style, and all this of course in addition to being a gifted and eloquent writer. You are a gentleman, and I mean gentleman, that someday I hope I will meet. Your kindness shines through. John Jenkins, Songwriter South Wales.
