Drink has been playing gigs around Melbourne at venues such as the StKilda Inn, Melbourne University, Velour and Bar Buddha. Our music is highly evocative and passionate, rock with a mellow twist. Arouse your senses to Drink. Daniel Rink - Lead Vocals; Acoustic Guitar; Electric Guitar Daniel Rink is a pop/rock songwriter, who has been playing guitar and singing for 20 Years. His experience in the music industry has included band management "Dannii's Sister" (Kylie Minogue tribute Band), solo recording, production music, mastering, and collaboration projects with artists such as Mary-Anne Mercuri, Chris Woodhouse, Richard Sayer, Jamie Ouzas, Dan Harper, Ivan Bertolla, Tony Murray and Jazz musician Peter Mitchell. His songs "Sweet Sunrise", "Never Say Die", "Little Bird", "Wasted Time", and "On Your Mind" placed him as a finalist in the international song writing contest UNISONG. "Trust in me" has been published in a volume of poetry entitled "Unspoken Dreams" released by the International Library of Poetry. In 2006, 3 Songs "Lies", "One Shot Away" and "I'm Coming Now" finished in the top 20 of the Unisong Contest. Daniel's main musical influences include Vertical Horizon, James Taylor, Kip Winger, Live, Van Halen, Dream Theater, Dig, Giant, and musical productions such as Jekyll and Hyde, Man of La Mancha, and Les Miserables. Chris Woodhouse - Electric Guitar; Acoustic Guitar; Keyboards Chris Woodhouse ('Woody') is a songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist and some time bass player. His musical history includes playing in bands such as 'Freakshow' (metal original band), 'Dannii's Sister' (Kylie Minogue tribute band) as well as tv jingles, short film music and session work. His project 'Xaniah' produces sonic tapestries and soundscapes similar to movie theme sound-tracks. Classically trained on guitar, with 20 years experience he displays a wide variety of genres and styles, fitting for the diverse sound of Drink. Influences include; Steve Vai, Prince, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Kings X, Rush, Vangelis and Duran Duran. Michael Harold - Bass Guitar; Backing Vocals Mike has been playing bass guitar for many years in both the Rock and Jazz scenes. He spent his early years playing fretless bass in contemporary jazz / jazz fusion bands. After a stint overseas he came back to Melbourne and joined a rock band playing popular covers. The band was called Jump the Q and gained regular work around inner city Melbourne. Armed with a 5 string Ibanez bass Mike teamed up with 17 Year old Woody on Electric Guitar in the 70's/80's Rock and Roll cover band 'Wheels of Fire' Mike continued to pursue his roots by playing occasional Jazz or Blues gig's. Then when working on some original songs with the old members of Wheels of Fire, the idea of forming a Kylie Tribute Show came about and Danni's Sister was born and played regular gigs around Melbourne & Victoria in the late 90's. Venues included the Palace, chasers & the Midsumma Festival. Mike has stayed in touch with woody and welcomed the idea of joining the Drink project on Bass. What started out with just helping out recording bass parts on some of Daniel and Woody's compositions has now grown into a live original band. I even get to do a few Backing Vocals. Look out for me on lead vocals real soon! Paul Matcott - Drums; Percussion Paul is a professional drumset/percussion player with nearly thirty years experience, playing everything from Musicals, Jazz, Rock, Funk, African and Latin to classical styles.
