Drew Page started his jazz career in Dallas with such well known personalties as Spud Murphy, Harry James, Warren Smith and Dave Mathews. Drew was featured at the famous Chicago jazz spot, the Gay Nineties, with pianist Mel Henke from 1938 to 1940. In Hollywood he worked with Red Nichols,Phil Harris,Freddy Martin and radio staff orchestras. In 1951 Drew was featured with the Billy Roe Quartet in Bakersfield, California where he came in contact with Ralph Yaw,arranger and composer, and Georgie Starbuck Galbraith poet and lyricist.Their song, Lonesome Horn, sets the mood for this album which was recorded in Hollywood in 1956 .
