Edge of World on CD

Dragonfly is a 5-piece band that is also musical expedition. From Amsterdam to Morocco, and Bombay to Paris, the band concocts a heady mix of exoticism, funk, rock, and pop in what has been described as 'intelligent and emotional songs. The band is fronted by Miki Singh's distinctive and intimate vocals, and backed by a hugely capable and versatile band that can effortlessly move from quiet and moody ballads to anthemic rockers, from engagingly mysterious grooves to dance/funk numbers. Originally assembled in 2001 by lead singer/songwriter Miki Singh and renowned Boston blues guitarist Peter Parcek,. The band is rounded out by the veteran keyboardist and DJ Brother Cleve (The Del Fuegos, Combustible Edison), drummer Steve Scully (James Taylor, Juliana Hatfield, Letters to Cleo), and bassist Marc Hickox (Peter Parcek Trio, Lucky Stereo). Dragonfly released it's first album 'The Edge of the World' in 2003 on Sony Music in India. Dragonfly is one of the few western rock bands to be featured on Channel V, MTV India and MTV Desi. Over 20,000,000 viewers saw their videos; which were all filmed in Rajasthan and Mumbai. Dragonfly has toured India twice and opened for Bryan Adams at The Parade Grounds in Bangalore to a huge welcoming audience. 'Edge' was also released in the UK (via UMG) and the US to excellent reviews andstrong airplay in the US college radio market. The band also took some time to work with producer Martyn Ware. The band's aesthetic and beautiful packaging won the album several design awards. 2005 saw the release in India of the band's second album, 'Blind' which blends traditional Indian instruments with the band's high-energy rock and funkSound. In addition, the band worked with a number of top Asian remix artists to create a bonus CD of indo-influenced lounge and dance remixes that is being released with 'Blind'. Some of those artists include; Sonik Gurus, Swami, Aki Nawaz, Dum Dum Project, DJ Rekha and Dave Sharma, DJ Manish, tj Rehmi and Dragonfly's own Brother Cleve aka Sharaabi Kapoor. The band is currently releasing 'Blind' in Europe and the US. After the release in April, French Rolling Stone gave the album three stars; subsequently guitar hero Louis Bertignac of the supergroup Telephone invited Miki and Peter to perform with him at the legendary Zenith in Paris.
