Description

Abstract Electronic Music 1 on CD

About the release 'Abstract Electronic Music 1' 'Abstract Electronic Music 1' is comprised of older material dating from 1997 to 2006 that I've wanted to get out into the world for a few years. The music on this release is a little darker then where I am now in my life but I'm still performing this stuff live and wanted to make it available. The first four tracks are really one piece of music in four movements; 'Energy On Tap, Atomic Enlightenment'. This piece was part of a large art installation by Ryan Newby and won second place in the USA Mid West Large Installation Competition in 1997. Definitely 'Experimental Electronic' music Tracks six through eight are what I call 'Aural Portraits'. This is what four of my friends sound like to me. 'Tyler' and 'Keri' are more IDM tracks and the most 'accessible' tracks on the release. Later this year I will release the entire series of 'Aural Portraits'. Tracks nine, ten and eleven were done by the electro-acoustic improvisation project 'faux pas trio'. Brad Hines electronics and percussion, Nathan Striedenger drums, Charles Shriner electronics. I recorded the tracks in a warehouse/art space where Brad lived. Finally, tracks twelve through fourteen are Urban Dirges. Songs for the Urban dead. Gothic IDM?! LOL I hope you enjoy the material!
