All the Kings Horses on CD

'....an excellent follow up. Disturbing, but also kinda fantastic.' 8/10 Classic RockMagazine (Feb 2006) Dogkennel Hill released their debut album 'Sweethearts of the Rodeo' in 2000 to critical acclaim but little commercial success. 'For the first album we were trying to get away from the rock thing and concentrate on a more organic feel. Hence the reliance on acoustic instruments which, I think, allowed the strength of the material to shine through,' says Dogkennel Hill songwriter and frontman Tim Bewlay. After a line-up shift within the band, it was time for a sea-change. The band's new album 'All the King's Horses' is a deeply personal and brooding album, following a haunted path through a film noir landscape to ultimate redemption. Says Tim: 'The album has been almost cathartic for me and it expresses a lot of dark emotions, but I wanted to celebrate that and embrace it. Partly recorded in the cracked beauty and isolation of Tim's rural French home, 'All the King's Horses' certainly broods heavily but always at the darkest point comes a chink of light to direct you back onto that redemptive path.
