Technophiliacs on CD

The Diamond Galaxy is a rock / techno band on a quest to dig deeper into the vast amount of techno / trance / and drum & bass music being created today and to blend it with the sensibilities of rock and roll songwriting. The diversity of influences include White Zombie, The Doors, Roxy Music, Iggy Pop, Pink Floyd, Photek, LTJ Bukem, Juno Reactor, Moby, Hybrid, Sasha / Digweed, and any of the artists on the Global Underground recordings. Davey Dasher (Dave Janusko) began forming the band after returning from a national tour playing guitar with My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult. The original writing / recording team included; James Basore (TKK drummer), Sham Bauer (TKK stage manager) and B.Z. Lewis (owner and operator of Studio 132 in San Francisco). The current line-up includes: Davey Dasher - vocals, sequencing; Sham Bauer - bass, sequencing; Christian 'Fantastic' Rouillier - guitar; and Chris Kaufmann - drums. Although B.Z. Lewis is not part of the live / touring band, he continues to be part of The Diamond Galaxy sound. History: Dave Janusko has been involved in the national music scene since the early 90's. As the bass player for the local San Francisco pop band The Himalayans, he co-wrote the song 'Round Here' with Adam Duritz, who was singing for The Himalayans at the time. The Counting Crows re-recorded the song and used it as the opening track on their first record. To date this record has sold over 10 million copies. The song 'Round Here' was re-released twice on the Counting Crows' double live record, was performed live on The Late Night With David Letterman Show, has been used numerous times on tv shows world-wide including Party Of Five, MTV's The Real World, and earned Janusko a BMI POP MUSIC AWARD in 1995. In 1997, Janusko joined America's sexiest industrial/electronic band My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult as the principal guitarist and became Davey Dasher. Two national tours in '97 and '98 introduced Dasher to what rock and roll is supposed to be - dynamic, gigantic, and sexy. The TKK road crew included lighting designer Lawrence Upton (The Crystal Method, The Beastie Boys, Marilyn Manson, The Smashing Pumpkins, Tina Turner); house sound man Patrick Gordon (principal engineer in Busta Rhymes' studio in NYC); and of course Groovie Mann (Frank Nardiello) and Buzz McCoy (Mars Daley) of TKK. The '98 TKK tour also included Moonshine recording artists Cirrus as the opening band.
