Deryck Anthony Douglas Biography Devoted born-again Preacher, Teacher, Recording Artist, Singer and Songwriter, Pastor Deryck Anthony Douglas was born in the Parish of Clarendon, in Jamaica West Indies; the sixth of eleven children to parents Hyacinth and Altimont Douglas on September 12th 1972. He was called by the Lord at a very early age, and was baptized at age fourteen in his hometown church (Church of God 7th day) in May pen Clarendon, Jamaica where he debuted his singing talents. By age 22 he was one of the youngest ordained evangelists in the Island, and has grown tremendously as an anointed preacher of the gospel of Christ. At age 34 he became the ordained Pastor to the Beth-El Church of God 7th day in Miami Florida, which he founded in 1997. His singing debut was a triumphant endeavor for the young evangelist. It brought many local Gospel promoters knocking at his door and with each performance he rose above the expectations of those who were blessed enough to be ministered to by this anointed man of God. When asked what is the best thing about his ministry replied "If I reach only one person, that's all that matters". In 1987, Pastor Douglas' first single "I Must Confess" was released. The song brought about an album bearing the said title, which was released later that year, and by 1989 another album "EVANGELISM" was born and left the shelves of gospel music stores with rapid speed. In the midst of performing, Pastor Douglas never left his loves, evangelizing and preaching and would work tirelessly doing both. His anointed preaching and dynamic style later led him to the Cayman Islands, where he Co-Pastored a church there. He however took with him his love for ministering through song and music. Realizing the adamantine work at hand and what he must do, brought about his second album "STAND UO FOR LOVE" in 1990, and by the ending of that year he anthologized "I must confess" and "Stand up for love" to make "Old Time Gospel", the CD. His talents do not stop at preaching, evangelizing or even singing, but has also extended to songwriting.
