Read My Lips on CD

Denise Drake grew up on a cattle ranch in the high desert of Eastern Oregon, USA. Ever since her mother can remember, Denise has been making music. Piano being her first instrument, Denise picked up the guitar on her travels through the US and Europe as a young woman. 'As I traveled, I realized music to be a universal language. Due to music, I have made so many connections with people all over the world. I am very grateful!' (Denise Drake) Back in the USA, Denise has been performing in the Pcific Northwest and Alaska for the past decade. A former member of the R&B Band, Bulldog Rhythm Review, Denise is now out on her own and is a regular fixture in venues all over the West. 'I think I have played every kind of festival. . . from Blues to Blueberries.' (Denise Drake) Denise's music blends traditional folk with her rock and blues backround, for a sound that is a true cross section of American music. Her rhythmic acoustic guitar and piano provide a solid base for her powerful vocals. On this latest studio recording, Denise is joined by her good friend, and Internationally acclaimed slide guitar player, Nick Vigarino. Also at her side is another good friend, Peter 'Spud' Siegel, providing the beautiful strings of the mandolin. The combination is a great example of a modern, yet traditional sound coming alive with the passion and heartbeat of musicians themselves.
