The Story: Journey into a world where dreams come true and mysteries are revealed! Follow the heart of a desperate dreamer whose security rests in a dream larger than himself. This new musical adaptation of Joseph's classical quest for glory rides on the cutting-edge of inspirational theatre. The enchanting musical score will carry you into the heart of this epic, as betrayal turns to trust and hope rises from despair. Watch how one gifted dreamer endures multiple trials, including a murderous plot on his life, a seductive temptress, and an unjust prison sentence, overcoming it all to become one of the most prominent and powerful rulers in the land of Egypt. Be amazed as the Master of Dreams weaves everything together in a mesmerizing performance, lifting the hearts of all who dare for dreams to come true! Album Produced by Mike Ello and David Ello © 2008 David Ello About the Project: The purpose of this CD is to convey the concept of Master of Dreams in it's most basic form to inspire others with the music and vision of further developing the work into a fully orchestrated, fully staged piece of musical theatre. In Spring of 2007 I gathered a group of seven actors (myself included) to give voice to this work in the form of a staged reading at the Storehouse of the Houston Vineyard. After this it made sense to invite the same group of friends to participate in the recording of this concept album, since they had already invested so much of their time and hearts in the project. Early on I made a decision to incorporate women's voices as well as men's to convey the parts of Joseph's brothers and other characters typically portrayed by men, and this decision was made to show the rich creative possibilities of cross-gender casting. It is my hope that these performers will help carry your imagination into a musical journey that leaves you dreaming along with us by the end! David Ello.
