David Castle is not a newcomer to music or the record business. Growing up in the South, castle, the youngest son of a minister and a schoolteacher, was around music and began playing the piano at the age of three. His professional music career began with a move to Hollywood at age 21. With experiences ranging from touring with The Monkees to conducting the London Royal Philharmonic and appearing live in the U.K. on BBC's Top of the Pops to over 14 million viewers, castle has long been a well seasoned writer and performer. During the 1970's, as a young staff songwriter for United Artists Music Publishing, castle's songs were recorded by Helen Reddy (for which he received a gold record), The Lettermen, Bobby Vinton, Marilyn McCoo, and many others. In 1977 castle released his debut album, 'Castle in the Sky,' as the launching artist on Parachute Records, a subsidiary label of Casablanca Records and Filmworks. In 1978, he placed a song in the Academy Award-winning film 'Midnight Express' and was nominated for a Grammy for Album of Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or TV Special. His second album, 'Love You Forever,' was released in 1979. Castle's third album, an independent project entitled 'Voice In The Wind,' was released in October 1994 and was picked up for national distribution by DeVorss & Company. It made it's way on the New Age charts as reflected in the radio/retailer magazine, 'New Age Voice' and continues to receive air play on New Age shows internationally. David Castle's 4th album and newest release, 'Music For Your Soul,' is a collection of songs he has written over the past 30 years, carefully chosen for this special album he's recorded and released. It contains some of his earliest songs as well as others he's written over the years right up to the present. 'Music For Your Soul,' is an experience from beginning to the end that you're sure to enjoy as castle takes you through a journey musically, lyrically, and even on a soul level with this magical album. Castle describes 'Music For Your Soul' as his 'best work to date.'
