'Short Goodbyes-The Permanent Collection': The creation of 'Short Goodbyes' was governed by two main precepts. One, to be a thing of beauty, and two, to be about songs rather than the instrumental or improvised music Dave has played and loved for ages. The short lengths of most of the songs are part of the impetus for the double entendre of the disc title. The songs vary greatly in feel and style ranging from rockers with big horn arrangements to down tempo earthy RB, spoken word/noise, and a Gram Parsons style country duet. Throughout though, the thread of sincerity without self-indulgence, lyrical content and lush arrangements enhance the discs cohesion and dynamic. Over a year in the making, the self-produced disc was recorded at Dave's Lucky Devil Sound Studio's and mixed at San Pablo Recorders owned by bassist Jon Evans (Tori Amos', Paula Cole). Mastered by Michael Romanowski at Paul Stubblebine Mastering, SF. From his long associations in the business Dave assembled a list of fine musicians to play on the disc. Guests include: Dale Fanning and Arne Livingston (from Seattle's 'Living Daylights'), Jon Evans, Eric McFadden (EMT, Stockholm Syndrome), Karl Perazzo (Santana), Reggie Watts (Maktub), Mic Gillette (Tower Of Power), Jennifer Newell (Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey) and Eenor (Les Claypool). About Dave: Dave Pellicciaro brings a hard work ethic with his solid background. A life-long touring and recording musician, his name has become congruous with his powerhouse B3 style, keyboard chops, versatility and his copious energy. Holding a Grammy for his work on Beauoseil's 'L'Amour Ou L Folie' and summoned by the likes of The Grateful Dead, Chris Isaak, Col. Bruce Hampton and Zero, Dave is a respected player and person. He's performed with Gov't Mule, Widespread Panic, Galactic, Matt Chamberlain/Critters Buggin, Mike Clark, Taj Mahal,The Living Daylights, Mofro, Leftover Salmon, Jerry Joseph and The Jackmormons and Boubacar Diabete of Senegal. In addition to running the award-winning 'Lucky Devil Sound' studio and music licensing house he is recognized as a creative band leader and producer.
