DANA GALEN Dana Galen has been described as one of the most exciting singers performing in L.A. today. Her voice weaves through melodies like a bird in flight. Never too much too soon. Her musical style carries with it all the traditions of such greats as Sarah Vaughan and Carmen McCrae, yet the edginess and R&B anticipation of the best Diva's out there today. Her latest CD contains only Standards but each instrument and orchestrated melody is arranged in a Pop/R&B style that only she can give. Her rendition of the old tunes, such as My Foolish Heart is so stylish that it brings a whole new life to the tune and the masterwork continues through to the last note of the Frank Sinatra hit 'Only the Lonely' As a performer she glistens on stage and can hold any audience old & young alike with her dazzling array of songs from Standard show tunes to R&B and Pop. She has a magical way of expressing the melody of a song and building on that melody as she carries the audience along with her. 'And what's truly amazing is that she captures the exact style of each song and performs them flawlessly' as stated in the Singers Times entertainment section '....she's a world class talent that just hasn't been seen enough yet...' ...'truly phenomenal, all of my serious vocal students are required to listen to her CD's'...from Brian Whitts guitarist and vocal coach. Dana has performed on stage and in studio with such artist as Anita Baker, Ray Charles, Joe Cocker, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Al Green, David Cassidy and Milton Berle to name a few. She has performed as leading ladies in off broadway productions of Hello Dolly, Sugar, Lost In the Stars, Oklahoma and supporting roles in Music Man, Carousel. She has produced and arranged vocals and performed for many other productions such as Gospel Lights Variety Show, Praise, The True Christmas Story CD, Full Armour CD and worked with such highly regarded producers as Ken Tamplin, Chris Bell, Ken Wood and Richard Callaci. Dana's lead singing and vocal arrangements have appeared in TLC and Discovery Channel specials from 'Martyrs of the Civil Rights' to 'America's Greatest Women' awards show, jingles for LA Dodgers, America's Variety Show of Show, HBO special-Miracle of Life, Gospel Review, Ace Ventura Pet Detective and a myriad of local and national TV and radio commercials. Dana studied at the Walter Crichton School of Music and moved onto private study and vocal coaching throughout her college years.
