Stars on CD

The Come Ons have long been known as the smooth & soulful Detroit garage band with their first two releases on Sympathy For The Record Industry. They've released two French singles on Larsen, a 3 song 7" on U.K. label Sweet Nothing, appeared on the John Peel Show (RIP), a Blondie tribute, a Gun Club tribute and other compilations worldwide. Their eponymous debut produced the single 'Whatcha Got?', later used in a 2004 radio and television ad by Chevrolet. Their 2nd release, Hipcheck, produced another commercial success with the simple country-fide ditty 'Dollar in My Pocket' finding itself selling taco salads for Carls Jr. restaurants in 2006. MoPop Music, the band's own label, released a 4 song 12' single in 2005 that includes the Donna Summer classic 'I Feel Love' remixed by Flaming Lips bass player Michael Ivins. U.K.'s Fact Magazine called it 'psychedelic future disco' and 'possibly the biggest big-room party anthem of the year'. Stars is the 4th full length from The Come Ons and the 4th release on MoPop Music. The band's line-up includes Deanne Iovan on vocals, bass & keyboards. Deanne has also performed live and on record with The Sirens and Sunshine Doray and has contributed backing vocals to recordings by New Zealand rockers The Datsuns and Detroit comrades The Dirtbombs and Clone Defects. Patrick Pantano plays drums in The Come Ons and also performs live and on record with The Dirtbombs. Latest addition Bryan Foreman made a special appearance on The Come Ons 2004 release The Ghetto Years and plays guitar on this new CD. Stars was recorded at Tempermill Studio (see Dave Feeny from Blanche, Loretta Lynn) and was engineered and mastered by Jim Kissling. This latest CD includes the song 'My One and Only', the 7" remix heard recently on the new ABC hit show Men in Trees.
