Cleveland Meriweather is a product of evolutionary contributing factors directly descended from Black InQ Co-founder, Manchild. Known for his wordplay techniques and Spoken Word mastery, Manchild has metamorphosised into Meriweather, expanding his creative expression arsenal to further and more effectively entertain, educate, and challenge. His lyrical delivery is a tribute to the forgotten and not-so-forgotten forefathers and foremothers of the hip-hop culture. Meriweather has fused the Griot tradition of storytelling with current events, catchy hooks, humorous metaphors and edgy production in order to bring forth his first CD on Silver Sun Entertainment, titled 'Affirmative Action.' Following an informative introduction, the CD begins with the title track where listeners will find themselves dancing for a common cause, work. From there, you will keep dancing to 'All Night Long' and celebrate the bare necessities in the catchy 'No Bling'. The song 'Maquiladora' cleverly discusses the United State's foreign labor policies and is quickly followed by 'Prodigally Repenting' where Meriweather displays his Spoken Word skills. 'Affirmative Action' is packed with 12 tracks guaranteed to stimulate the emotions and encourage free thought, all while having a great time. The project is designed specifically to entertain, educate and challenge, and is spliced with witty metaphors, hot production and old school deliveries. It is meant to be a tool to stimulate dialogue, conversation, and debate about socio-economic conditions, political ideologies, ethnic diversity, and religious philosophy. Enjoy at your own risk.
