Ready to take you on an adventure, The Christopher Complex emerges onto the music scene with a sound to take your mind and body on a musical journey with the release of his new EP "Let's Go." A soulful R&B singer, he uses Funk as his foundation, and borrows styles from other music genres such as jazz, pop, rock, dance from various decades. His lyrical presentation evokes intense emotion while the production of music enhances his feelings onto his listener. He has adopted this spirit from his influences Prince, James Brown, Parliament Funkadelic, The Jacksons, Sly and the Family Stone to name a few, as well as the new greats, D'Angelo, Lenny Kravitz and Maxwell. Brooklyn born with Southern roots, The Christopher Complex, not only a singer but a songwriter and producer, is not afraid to take on the mainstream by writing and playing music that record companies are afraid to release: risk taking material that are in their artists' catalogs. He's not concerned about following what is the popular sound. He wants to contribute a new vibration to music. "It would be easier to play and sing what everyone else is singing about, but, it doesn't set you apart from the masses. I like to play what I like and just hope that others like it too," he says. This isn't The Christopher Complex's first exposure to the music business. More than a decade ago he began developing his musical talents, style and acumen as a partner in a production company called M.I.C. Entertainment. M.I.C. was a company that managed local R&B singers, Hip Hop and Rap artists. The Complex took on the role of Artist Developer. In this capacity he was the vocal coach and image consultant, wrote and co-wrote the artists' songs, did their music productions and handled their song publishing. With no formal training, he taught himself how to play the keyboard, the rhythm, acoustic and bass guitars. Through his company and his self training, he began to cultivate a theory of his sound and understand the music business. With the tools of his trade at his disposal, it was just a matter of time before he would step out on faith and share his sound with the rest of the world. In the past year, he began to get his performance feet wet by performing at café open mics, at Cornelia Street Café in Greenwich Village in Manhattan and Solomon's Porch Café in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. "Hottie" was the first song he introduced himself with as the promotional single. An up tempo pulsating dance track that carries the message of uplifting women and appreciating them for more than their physical attributes. His stage presence and performance instantly pulled the crowd in, which in turn he used to fuel his confidence to keep this music dream going. Serita Eaton, the host of the open mic at Cornelia Street Café said 'WOW! His performance is AMAZING!!!! As long as I have known the person that is The Christopher Complex he's so quiet. Seeing him perform with all of the energy and vibrancy left me speechless. Where did you come from?!' That was enough to let him know that he was on the right track. The release of "Let's Go" features tracks that you can picture as "a walking soundtrack which clearly strikes images in your head of romantic escapades," says an admirer of The Christopher Complex. From rhythmic impulses on the dance floor in "Dance With You" to the soulful declaration of love-found in "You're the One I've Been Looking For (All of My Life)." "Let's Go" is a montage of different experiences conjuring up feelings and imaginations most mainstream music has seem to desert in it's ingredients. "Let's Go" dares you to leave all inhibitions at the door and surrender to a new direction in music. The Christopher Complex insists you join him on his journey, discover new musical avenues and reminisce of days of old on how music used to make you feel. Take a quick get away where you can experience the music's groove, it's force of subtle seduction, sensuality, romance, fun, free spirited excitement. A well deserved break from the same old day.
