Tribute on CD

'Tribute' brings together an equal mix of traditional and original vocals and instrumentals. From the Carter Family's 'Keep on the Sunny Side' to Chris' own song 'Tribute to Mother' to the incredible and artistic arrangement of 'Turkey in the Straw,' you'll be back wanting more. Don't miss out on this terrific CD! The Chris Talley Trio won the 2003 Illinois Traditional Country Music Association's Bluegrass Band Competition. The band also won 3rd place in the Gospel Band and Country Band Competitions. One of the things that makes this band stand out is the vocal abilities of the group. Every member sings both lead and harmony. Chris Talley has won several Illinois State Championships on both fiddle and banjo. Her songwriting and vocals are just one of the featured items on this CD. Carla Steinkoetter brings her many years of expertise to the CD playing acoustic bass. Carla played bass for Alison Krauss during fiddle contests in Illinois when Alison was just 10-12 years old! Ranger Dave Montgomery plays rhythm and flat-top guitar and is also featured on the vocal Kentucky Girl. Dave has won so many Illinois and Missouri Flat-picking Championships that we've lost count. You'll hear his fantasic guitar work throughout the CD! George Portz, a Grand National Fiddle Champion, plays fiddle on two tunes. Liesl Schoenberger, a Junior Grand National Fiddle Champion, is featured on four tunes. At only 18 years of age, Liesl's dual classical and bluegrass career boasts many highs, including performances on the Grand Ol' Opry and Carnegie Hall. Mike Aehle does a great job with baritone vocals. Even Chris' father, Andy Talley, struts his stuff on an old time fiddle tune.
