Te Espero Aqua on CD

Chris Kase (b. 1964, New Brunswick, NJ) is a jazz trumpeter, flugelhornist, composer and educator who has resided in Madrid, Spain since 1997. He has performed and/or recorded with many well known jazz artists such as: The Mingus Big Band, Adam Nussbaum, Kenny Wheeler, Bob Mintzer, The Bird of Paradise Orchestra, Steve Coleman, Chick Corea, Steve Wilson, Don Braden, Grant Stewart, Bruce Barth, David Berkman, Al Foster and Perico Sambeat, among others. One of twenty essential compact discs to get oneself into Spanish jazz. -EL PAÍS - July, 2004 * * * * Extraordinary 'business card' from trumpeter Chris Kase. The most attention-getting aspect of this disc in the revelation of Kase as a composer with fresh ideas, lyricism and harmonic and rhythmic inventiveness. -Jorge García, CUADERNOS DE JAZZ Great instrumentalist and, at the same time, a magnificent organizer of sounds and a notable composer. -Miquel Jurado, EL PAÍS Kase has, without doubt, an esteemed individual voice. A very gratifying disc which will make us follow with interest the career of the artist. -José Armenta, MÁS JAZZ This is without doubt one of the most interesting projects to come to light this year in the jazz scene south of the Pyrenees. Kase demonstrates an excellent sense of solo construction. His is a jazz rich in flavor with much substance. -Karles Torra, LA VANGUARDIA.
