Description

Ten Senators & the Rebel Son on CD

With dreams and aspirations of being a professional baseball player since the age of 3, Chris Bono spent the good part of his youth chasing the American dream of professional baseball. After being drafted by the Seattle Mariners and signing to the University of South Carolina he sustained two major injuries forcing him to quit by his junior year. In the midst of this life-altering event, Chris discovered a passion for music. While recouping from surgery for his injuries he began to write songs on a $99 acoustic guitar purchased at a local pawnshop. Soon after, he was performing at local clubs and open mics, and recorded his first acoustic EP entitled 'Escape'. Over the course of the next three years Chris absorbed himself in the music of such greats as Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Neil Young, Tom Waits, and Jeff Buckley tirelessly studying their records and memorizing their songs. After moving to Boston, MA in 2003, Chris began writing and recording the material which would eventually become the basis for his first full-length album. The record 'Ten Senators and the Rebel Son' was recorded between the months of April through November of 2004 at Sherwood Recording Studios in Bedford, MA. Chris' first release shows his eclectic songwriting style, which along with his diverse lyrical style and natural pop sensibilities reveals a blooming artist willing to take chances. After completing the production of 'Ten Senators and the Rebel Son' Chris moved to New York City where he now lives. He currently is working on his next full-length album, an ambient acoustic/folk record slated for release by December 2005.
