Ballet Class: Pro Series 1 on CD

The Pro Series is a succession of CDs of original piano music for professional company ballet & contemporary dance classes, recorded 'live' in London in 2009 and 2010. The music is largely improvised & reflects the different teaching styles of each teacher. The current trend is for dance companies to use electric pianos which, though not as nice to play, are much easier to record than acoustic pianos. In this series the digital sound is captured live during class. This MIDI information is then edited & mastered back in the studio using the highest quality piano samples. So what you get is a professional class 'as it happened', while being able to tailor the music to suit your own class. Enjoy! Pro Series 1. Class taught by Stephen Sheriff for Rambert Dance Company 17/06/10 Stephen Sheriff has taught at many of the top ballet & contemporary dance companies in Europe. He has danced in different companies throughout his career, including the Royal ballet, Rambert Dance Company and NDT, becoming familiar with different techniques. This has brought to his teaching a classical, lyrical style with a twist. Note: To reduce packaging, this CD is presented in shrink-wrapped cardboard sleeve.
